My wife had to work on Saturday (from home) and my son was visiting his grandmother, so I woke up I decided to make a trip to City Island to check out how things were going. When I arrived on the island and opened my car door I was very surprised to hear the beeping of construction vehicles. This is the first time, that I am aware of, that they were working on a Saturday. I grabbed my camera and made the quick trip up the steps to the stadium area.
Here is what I saw….
1.) View from the top of the hill by the horse carriage area.
2.) Smoothing/leveling the surface.
3.) Checking to see if the ground is level.
4.) Moving dirt to fill in holes.
5.) Mixing concrete.
6.) Filling in holes by the Commerce Bank Sign.
7.) Scoreboard with everything removed and only the skeleton remaining.
8.) View from behind the scoreboard.
9.) Working in the centerfield area where the decking and picnic area will be located.
10.) Rebar
11.)The crane was just hanging around.
12.) Break Time
Part 2 will be posted this afternoon. Part 2 contains 14 photos.

Will - I really like your pictures of the stadium renovations! Keep the pictures coming.
Thanks!!
Bob
I was going to say the same thing. For the heck of it, I went on the Senators website this past Saturday, figuring to see nothing happened, and found out they took off everything else on the scoreboard surprisingly.
I almost went to go to City Island myself this past Saturday (since I had to go to Harrisburg for a few things).
Nice to see some good progress finally.
Keith
