Former Harrisburg Senators Cliff Floyd was removed from the Tampa Bay Rays World Series roster with an injured right shoulder.
According to the Rays official Web site, Floyd injured his shoulder in Game 2 while sliding into 2nd base.
Veteran Eric Hinske was added to the roster to replace Floyd. Hinske’s addition paid off as he hit a homerun in his first at-bat in game 4, last night. The Phillies went on to win the game 10-2 to take a commanding 3 games to1 lead in the best of 7 series.
The Phillies (and former Senator Matt Stairs) are looking to finish off the Rays tonight in game 5 at Philadephia (broadcast starts at 8pm on Fox). Tonight is a battle of each team’s ace as Philadelphia is sending Cole Hamels to the mound, while the Rays starter will be Scott Kazmir.
