Saguaros move into sole possession of 1st place with a 13-2 win over Mesa (Box/Recap). Entering yesterdays game the Sags were tied with Mesa for the top spot in the AFL American Division with an 11-6 record. Senators/Nationals players accounted for 9 of the Sags 13 runs (Rhinehart 3 rbi's and a run scored; Desmond 3 rbi's and 2 runs).
Bill Rhinehart 2/5, 2 doubles, 3 RBI’s and a run scored.
Ian Desmond was 3/3, just missed a cycle (needed a home run), 3 RBI’s, 2 runs scored and, walked twice.
Adam Carr pitched 1 inning allowing no hits or runs. His ERA is now at 1.23 in 7.1 innings pitched during the AFL. He has held the top prospects in the minors to an overall average of .233.
