This was difficult as there was so much ‘bashing’ of the front office going on early in the season and then late in the season there were a few changes to the front office which seemed to cause a little confusion. Credit has to be given to Randy Whitaker for sticking it out and not losing focus during the difficult times. I’m sure this winter will go a long way in helping to build a cohesive front office for 2009.
At first I was skeptical of how the new announcing team of Terry Byrom and Dan Watson would work out but they did a fine job. They seem to not miss a beat and they work well together. Listening to games was enjoyable, for the most part.
The two things that seemed to be consistent all season were the outstanding performance of the Grounds Crew keeping the field in great condition and the hands-on approach of Mark Butler (part owner of the Senators and President of Ollie’s Bargin Outlet). Mark was always visible, easy to approach, and showed sincere concern for any issues that were raised.
My 2008 Harrisburg Senators Staff Person of the Year is the Grounds Crew and Mark Butler. Congratulations to them. (sorry no good photos of Mark Butler)
