Kory Casto (pictured above) reportedly broke a bone in his hand during the game on Wednesday. Casto will go on the disabled listed for about 2 months. He was a member of the 2006 Harrisburg Senators. With the Senators he hit .271, 20 homeruns 84 runs scored and 80 RBI’s on his way to winning Eastern League Rookie of the Year. For his performance that season he was also named to the Eastern League Mid-Season and Post-Season All-Star teams, June Player of the Month, and Player of the week for June 18, 2006. Twice (05 & 06) the Nationals named him “Minor League Player of the Year”.
Reports are that Senators infielder Ed Rogers will take Casto’s roster spot for Triple-A Columbus Clippers. William Bergolla joins the Senators from extended Spring Training to fill Rogers spot.
