Nationals Spring Training Opener

In yesterdays Grapefruit opener the Nationals tied the Marlins 3-3 (Box Score).

Several former Senators played in the game:
Kory Casto started at 3rd base, going 1 for 2.
Alex Escobar started at DH, went 0 for 2 (1 K and 1 LOB)
Josh Whitesell was brought into the game to relieve Nick Johnson at 1st base. Whitesell was 1 for 2 with a run scored.
Starting pitcher Matt Chico (Pictured Above) threw 2 innings, giving up 1 hit and striking out 2.
Garrett Mock came on in relief of Chico. He threw 2 innings as well giving up two hits, 1 unearned run and striking out two.

Barry S. of the Nationals Journal posted the starting line up for today’s game against Georgetown U.

Two former Senators are also expected to pitch today, Collin Balester and Mike Hinckley.
