The Washington Post is reporting that the Nationals will most likely send Jesus Flores to Double-A Harrisburg to start the season. Flores came to the Nationals from the Mets via the 2006 Rule 5 Draft.
Flores played in 79 games for the Nats in 2007, hitting .244, 4 homeruns and 25 RBI’s. Sending him to Harrisburg will give him the opportunity to start everyday and continue to develop.
The main reason for sending Flores to Harrisburg is, "We think the pitching prospects are better there," GM Jim Bowden said. "He'll see better stuff there." Another factor that probably figured into the decision to send him to Harrisburg is Manager John Stearns. Stearns is a former All-Star catcher for the New York Mets. Learning from Stearns should help further develop Flores into an everyday catcher for the Nats in the near future.

Well, I guess with Johnny Estrada backing up Lo Duca, Jesus became expendable.
Hate for it to happen, but it's probably for the best.
Jake,
True. Jesus needs to play everyday so he develop. A year with Stearns and he should be ready to contribute in 09.
