LED Board and Video Board Additions

Press Release From the Harrisburg Senators

State-of-the-Art Additions for 2009 at Commerce Bank Park

Harrisburg, PA – On Friday, December 19th the City of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Senators announced a two-phase major renovation to Commerce Bank Park to begin immediately. This major renovation will modernize Commerce Bank Park. The first step in phase one is the installation of a new state-of-the-art video board and two LED ribbon boards.

The new 19mm LED video board is 21’ high x 56’ wide and will be placed in the same location as the old matrix boards in right field. This will be the largest video board in the minor leagues in Pennsylvania and the second largest video board in all of minor league baseball.

Along with the new video board in right field, there are going to be two new LED ribbon boards installed in left field and right center field. The total size of these two LED boards is 6’6” high x 200’ wide. The board in left field is 125’ wide and the one in right center field is 75’ wide. These are also 19mm LED boards.

“With these exciting additions, the Senators will have over 2400 square feet of 19mm video boards,” according to the Senators president Kevin Kulp. “What this means to our fans is that we’ll be able to entertain them on a nightly basis in a way that has never been done here before.”

In addition to the new video board elements, there is also going to be a new LED scoreboard. The new scoreboard will include all the typical features such as balls, strikes, outs, runs, hits, errors, inning score, and team names. It will also include time and temperature and a pitch speed reading as well.

“Our new video displays will allow us to utilize interactive game elements that have not ever been seen here at Commerce Bank Park,” per the new Director of Game Entertainment Aaron Margolis. “I think our fans will love the interactive content on the video board, not just during the game but also our between inning video board races, hat shuffles, and other new promotions. With cameramen roving the stands, fans will see themselves on our large video screen and will be encouraged to join in during on-screen dance-offs, kiss cams, and much more. Our new displays will allow us to make our fans the stars of the show.”

The exciting 2009 season opens on the road at Reading on April 9th with the home opener set for Thursday, April 16th at 7:00pm. Season tickets and group tickets are available by either phoning the Senators at 717-231-4444 or by going online to www.senatorsbaseball.com.
