Sorry, I completely missed this in my in-box.
Kevin Goldstein over at Baseball Prospectus released his list of the Nationals Top 11 prospects going in to the 2009 season. I’m not really surprised to see Zimmermann at the top of the list (as he seems to top everyone’s list for best Nationals prospect).
Goldstein’s rankings are ranked by stars with Five-stars being the highest.
1. Jordan Zimmermann, RHP Four-Star
2. Michael Burgess, RF Four-Star
3. Ross Detwiler, LHP Four-Star
4. Derek Norris, C Three-Star
5. Jack McGeary, LHP Three-Star
6. Chris Marrero, 1B Three-Star
7. Destin Hood, LF Three-Star
8. J.P. Ramirez, OF Three-Star
9. Esmailyn Gonzalez, SS Three-Star
10. Rogearvin Bernadina, CF Two-Star
11. Adrian Nieto, C Two-Star
Just Missed: Garrett Mock, RHP; Colton Willems, RHP; Terrell Young, RHP
Before You Ask: Unsigned 2008 first-round pick Aaron Crow would sit atop this list.
