Desmond Returns, Alaniz to DL

From the Harrisburg Senators Press Release:

The Harrisburg Senators have announced that INF Ian Desmond has been activated from the disabled list while RHP Adrian Alaniz has been placed on the disabled list. Desmond was placed on the disabled list on April 26 with a fracture of the left hamate bone.

Desmond played in just seven games at the start of the season and was batting .346 with 1 home run and 4 RBIs. He was the then Expos third round draft choice in the 2004 draft. Desmond played in 93 games last year with Harrisburg batting .251 with 12 HR and 44 RBIs.

Alaniz is 1-3 with a 7.56 ERA in seven starts. He has struck out 21 and walked 13. The Nationals selected Adrian in the eighth round of the 2007 draft. Coming into this season, he had a career record of 17-7 with a 3.00 ERA.

My Notes:
I was in attendance on Sunday and watched Ian's return to the Senators line up. He played SS and batted 3rd, he was 1/4 with a double. I kind of lost track, but by my count he cleanly fielded and threw out 3 or 4 hitters. None of the hits Ian field were difficult, 2 were slow rollers that he had to charge and make a good throws. Overall he looked pretty good for missing almost 2 months. People that talked with him prior to the game reported him as saying he 'felt good'.
