News on Ross Detwiler****UPDATE

From the Senators press release:

Ross Detwiler was promoted to the Washington Nationals yesterday. He started the game last night for the Nats and went five innings, allowing three runs while striking out six. He left with a 5-3 lead but the Nats couldn't hold it in the loss.

It is unclear whether he will return to Harrisburg or go to Syracuse.

Currently the Senators roster stands at 23 active and 3 on the DL.

My guess is Detwiler goes to Syracuse and Harrisburg gets a starter in return.

Harrisburg currently has 4 active starters (Alaniz, Arnesen, Atilano and Jones) and 1 on the DL (VanAllen).

Best options from Potomac are Bradley Myers (3-0 with a 1.85 ERA) or Jeff Mandel (4-1 with a 2.25 ERA).

Struggling starters at Syracuse are Balester (1-5 with a 5.54 ERA) and O'Connor (1-4 with a 5.73 ERA). All other starters at Syracuse have pitched well.

Lots of options available....

*****UPDATE 5/20*****
It appears that Detwiler will stay with the Nats for at least one more start. He is scheduled to start for the Nats against Baltimore on Saturday. For more information vist the Senators News article

I would see Detwiler going to Syracuse. Except in a few circumstances, once a player makes the majors, he will be in Triple A if he gets sent back down.

Also to note, with the win against Erie last night, the Senators have won 1,600 games since their inception in 1987. Lets hope 1,700 and other numbers come much quicker than they have been.
