Washington Nationals released former Senators pitcher Alex Morales.
Morales played 6-seasons in the Expos/Nationals organization (2003-2008). He was a member of the 06, 07 & 08 Senators teams. His best season as a Senator came in 2007 when he posted a 3.04 ERA in 16 games, while recording 2 saves.
I had Alex starting the 09 season in Harrisburg. With Morales' release I am going to added Jeff Mandel to the "best guess" roster.

Alex, you will be missed!
Thanks for all of your hard work and autographs!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but didnt he have a pretty bad injury last season around the start of it (and ended up missing the season)?
I would think that maybe he just didnt heal well from it, and the Nats had to pretty much let go. Sad to see it happen though, best of luck in Morales in getting another job with another ballclub.
