4/11/09: Errors Cost Senators in Loss

The Senators committed 4 errors in a 3-2 loss to Reading (Box Score/Recap)

Errors were committed by Ofilio Castro (2), Bill Rhinehart (1) and Jhonathan Solano (1). Castro, who is normally a sure-handed defender, committed both a throwing and fielding error.

The Senators offense was held to 2 runs on 8 hits. The only RBI's came off the bat of SS Ian Desmond and a bases loaded walk to Bill Rhinehart. Desmond was 2/3 with a double and a RBI. CF Mike Daniel was 3/5 (all singles) and a run scored.

Ross Detwiler, the Nationals #2 prospect according to Baseball America, made his Senators debut pitching 5 innings, allowing 2 runs (neither earned), while registering 5 strike outs.

Senators reliever, Adam Carr, was tagged with the loss as he walked 2, allowed a hit and gave up the winning run in 1 inning of work.

The Senators left 9 runners on base tonight. Over the last two games, both one run losses, the Senators have stranded 15 runners.

Was TOO COLD!!!

The Errors sure didnt help, but Worley was just on fire the first few innings. Cant really do a whole heck of a lot when the other teams pitcher just makes you look flat out silly.

Just the start of the season though, 139 games to go.
