This week’s new photo is from the August 10, 2008 game vs. Altoona. Between innings on the first base side there was a dance competition held where 3 people were selected to dance on the field and the fans picked a winner. Senators’ fan and 3rd base regular, Roy, won the competition for the second consecutive time.
I was sitting on the 3rd base side and had no idea there was dance competition going to happen. I was over there trying to get some decent images of Pirates prospect Jose Tabata. Also on the agenda that day were fellow Pirates right-handed prospects outfielder Jamie Romak, infielder Shelby Ford and starting pitcher Jared Hughes. Anyway, after Roy won the competition I figured he would look back towards the 3rd base side to see his friends cheering, that's when I took this image:
