New Photo Friday 10/31

During the August 23, 2008 game vs Portland the grounds crew was kind enough to let me know that 17-year major league veteran Devon White was in town working with the Senators outfielders. In 2007 he was served as the Washington Nationals Roving Outfield Coordinator. Earlier this week he was promoted by the Nationals to Special Assistant, Player Development.

White, was drafted by the California Angels in 1981; finished 5th in the 1987 AL ROY voting. He went on to spend 17-years in the Major Leagues playing for Angels, Blue Jays, Marlins, D-Backs, Dodgers and Brewers. A 3-time All-Star (89, 93, 98) he earned 7 Gold Gloves, and won 3 World Series (Blue Jays 92-93 and Marlins 97). In 1998 he was named the D-Backs Player of the Year. His career ended in 2001 as a member of the Brewers.
