Memorabilia Monday 10/14

This weeks Memorabilia Monday is of Wes Chamberlain, who played for the 1989 Harrisburg Senators.

With the Senators in 1989, Chamberlain, batted .306, 21 Homeruns, 87 RBI’s and 65 runs scored.

Chamberlain’s MLB career spanned 6 seasons, Philadelphia Phillies (1990-95) and Boston Red Sox (1995).

In 1990 Chamberlain, along with another former Senators Tony Longmire, were sent by Pittsburgh to Philadelphia for Carmelo Martínez. In 1991, he finished 5th place in the NL Rookie of the Year Award vote. He also appeared in the 1993 World Series.

In 1996 he was signed by Chiba Lotte Marines to play baseball in Japan.

Chamberlain played baseball Independent League for the Gary Railcats and Winnipeg Goldeyes of the Northern League. Where he was selected as an All-Star in 2000 and 2003. He finished his playing career in 2004 with the Goldeyes.

The card is a 1991 ‘large card’ of when Chamberlain played for the Phillies.
