Another fan favorite, Melvin Dorta, was assigned to the Altoona Curve of the Eastern League….Kip Bouknight is suiting up for the Reading Phillies this season…Salomon Manriquez is back in the Eastern Leuage too, playing for the Binghamton Mets. Last season he played for the Frisco RoughRiders, batting .275 with 16 homeruns…Last season’s manager, Scott Little, will be managing the RoughRiders in 2008…
Josh Whitesell was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks and will start the season playing for Triple-A Tuscon Sidewinders. He is on Arizona’s 40-man roster.
The following players have been released and, as of this morning, have not been resigned: Sheldon Fulse, Steve Mortimer, Brandon Powell, and Dan Foli.
Alex Morales is in extended spring training.
