The Senators suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday 13-11. Pitching was not a factor in this game as the teams combined for 27 hits and 24 runs. The game closely resembled batting practice.
Harrisburg jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the 1st inning. Akron came right back and scored 4 runs in each the 2nd and 3rd innings.
Akron was lead by Armando Camacaro, who was celebrating his 29th birthday. Camacaro was 3-5, 3 runs and 7 RBI’s. He connected for a grand slam off Mike Hinckley, his second home run of the game. He almost hit another homerun when he drove a shot to the centerfield warning track.
Harrisburg’s top performers were, Mike Daniel (pictured above) 4-4, 1 run, 2 RBI’s and a stolen base, Yurendell de Caster was 4-5, 3 runs and 4 RBI’s and a home run, Andrew LeFave 1-5, double, and 2 RBI’s. Luis Jimenez continued his hot hitting during this opening home stand of the season going 2-4, 2RBI’s, walk and a run scored.
