What’s Going On???

The last few weeks have been slow. Not much to report on. This is probably the quiet before the storm. The biggest news lately is FanFest 2008, which is a little over 2 ½ weeks away. There seems to be plenty of surprises planned for FanFest. As the surprises are reveled I will post them. This event is sure to be fun for the whole family.

Over the weekend The Patriot-News reported that Chester has received state aid to build a professional soccer stadium. Meanwhile the Harrisburg Senators are still waiting for funding to rebuild Commerce Bank Park. The report also states, “The Senators' owners remain bullish about kicking off a $42 million renovation of their cozy stadium on the Susquehanna River sometime this year. But the plans rely on a commitment of state aid.” The stadium renovation topic won’t be going away anytime soon.

Spring training is just around the corner. For the Nationals, pitchers and catchers report this coming Sunday, February 17 and the full squad reports on February 22. I’m sure once spring training is in full swing this site will be updated daily.

What am I working on? Well, probably the biggest and most exclusive thing I have pending is an interview with another member of the Senators Front Office. This might take some time to finalize but hopefully everything works out and I’ll be able to post it in the coming weeks.

Over the last week I’ve been analyzing 2007 season rosters, statistics, recent scouting reports and off-season player moves to help compile a list of players who I think might start the season in Harrisburg. My list is almost finished and should be posted this week.

Will, the Nationals signed Bret Boone to a minor league contract do you see him in Harrisburg Double A?

If he sticks with the Nationals organization past spring training he might be in Harrisburg at some point.

Considering he has not played since 2006 he will most likely need some time in the minors. Not sure if he will be in AA or AAA. EL is considered a pitchers league, so he might be sent here to get his timing back (hitting).

I conducted a e-mail interview with a member of the Senators Front Office staff on 2/17. It will be posted on 2/29, day before FanFest.

Within the next day or two I will be posting a list of players who I think might start the season in Harrisburg. I finished picking the players, now I have to write something to accompany the list. It seems like I've been working on this list forever. I had hoped to post it last week but it didn't work out as planned. The most difficult players to guess where they will be are the pitchers. The position players were for the most part easy.
